It was with real sadness that I read that Chris Bracey, the man behind Gods Own Junkyard, died on Saturday. If you’re not familiar with his work let me fill you in with some background info. He was a British artist and designer who put together one of the biggest collections of neon signs and sculptures outside of the USA. Quite a feat.
He also designed and made a lot of his own neon pieces and worked on many high-profile projects throughout the years. He’s also responsible for almost all of the neon naughty signs in Soho, London.
I remember visiting his pop up gallery and having my brain totally blown by the incredible pieces on display. So with this in mind I wanted to show you guys some pieces from his collection that I think could be amazing to incorporate into a funeral ceremony (you might need a very long extension cord or two). They could also work as beautiful memorials that you could enjoy in your own home.
Below are some of my favourites. Enjoy the eye feast my dears.
I’d like to think that the King of Neon will be resting eternally in one of these. You will be greatly missed sir.
Massive death positive neon love to Chris and his family and friends,
