The Winding Sheet’s Guide To Easily Achievable New Year’s Resolutions That Take Less Than An Hour…

How are those New Year’s resolutions going?  Are you going to the gym three times a week?  Still waking up at the crack of dawn every morning to make Instagramable avocado on toast?

Yeah, me neither.

What we really need are resolutions that only require doing something once!

Look no further than The Winding Sheet’s Guide To Easily Achievable New Year’s Resolutions That Take Less Than An Hour!! – a super catchy title.

1. Register for organ donation – 2 minutes
This is so quick and simple.  Visit the website, fill in your details and you’re good to go.
Don’t forget to tell your loved ones so they know what your wishes are.

2. Register to be a blood stem cell donor – 5-10 mins
Again this is incredibly simple. Once you’ve visited the website and registered they will send you a small kit containing two swabs. Rub these on the inside of your cheeks and pop them back in the post (they come with a freepost envelope so you don’t even have to get a stamp). Done!

3. Give blood – 5-10 mins
Ok, obviously I’d encourage you to do this more than once but it’s another super easy thing to do which has a big impact. Find out where your local blood donation facility is by visiting the website.

4. Jot down some funeral wishes – 30-60 mins
Help your loved ones give you the send off you want. Don’t leave them worrying about what your favourite flowers are or arguing about which Metallica song you love.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Just jot down a few must haves (and must NOT haves!) and put them with your important documents/share them with your loved ones.
I have designed some printouts to help make the process easier, whether you want a burial, cremation or are planning to donate your body. Don’t forget that you can go back and change things whenever you feel like it.

5. Think about your digital legacy – 30-60mins
We live so much of our lives online now. When we die our loved ones won’t just have to sift though the boxes of junk in our attics, they’ll have to wade through all our online memories too. Some of those will be precious and they will want to keep them safe.
Dead Social is an amazing resource for finding out about where to look and what to do to get your digital stuff in order and help your loved ones when the time comes for life to finally hit Del.
From downloading your entire Instagram profile to memorialising your Facebook account, Dead Social has all the answers and more! Grab a cup of tea and get stuck in.

Print this list and stick it on the fridge. Every time you tick one off buy yourself a donut. That’s five easy, guilt-free donuts! Go for it, you’ve earned it.
